Trying to find a legitimate work at home job can be like navigating a minefield. You may be wondering why so many so called jobs that are offered on the internet require you to pay an upfront fee. How can you tell which opportunities are genuine and which ones are trying to con you.

In recent years there has been a boom in the work at home market meaning more people are seeking employment at home and more business's are seeking workers that can work at home. This growth in the work from home sector can be a boon for many people wanting to either take the plunge and work full time from home or those that want to supplement their income with just a few hours a day or week.

There are many benefits to being able to work in your own home and essentially be your own boss. For families with children it allows them the flexibility to fit work around family life. If you need to take your child to the doctors or go and see a school play mid afternoon you can take the time off. No need to ask for permission as you are your own boss and you won't have to explain to your son or daughter why you weren't able to see them in their school play. You no longer have to sacrifice your family life for work.

A lot of people are dissatisfied with the conventional workplace. Many companies treat their employees like cattle and do not care how they are treated. Low pay, bullying, stress, growing workloads and the constant threat of being made redundant make many peoples 9 to 5 job quite literally a living hell. Be honest with yourself, if you didn't have to be at work if it wasn't for the money would you still be there.

So you want to make the move to working from home and being self employed but you do not want to end up being scammed. Whilst there are a lot of scams out there you can also find a lot of legitimate work. If you are being asked to pay for something then ask why. Don't be taken in by slick sales spiel, do your research, the internet is a great place to find information. If it is a scam you can be sure that someone else has realised it is a scam and have mentioned it on the internet.

Stay away from anything that sounds to good to be true. You have seen the ads, work from home doing only 2 hours a day and earn thousands. Sure if it was that easy everyone would be doing it and if there really was that much money to be made why are they selling you this information for a fraction they claim you can earn.
